The MS12 specification is USB 3.2 Gen2x2, that is, 10Gbps per lane, equating to 20Gbps total. When a USB 3.2 device (including previous versions) is plugged into the Thunderbolt 4 port, the port itself needs to allocate a single lane for image output (DisplayPort), leaving only the other lane available for data transmission. Therefore, MS12 can only support single-lane transmission speed of up to 10Gbps when plugged into a Thunderbolt 4 port.
